Before getting into anything let’s break down the name, Henny or Hennessy Colada is a play on the word Pina Colada, the only difference in this variant is that Rum in Pina Colada is replaced by Hennessy a Cognac which is a Brandy made in Cognac, France. So you actually drink a mix between the Caribbean jazz and the French sophistication. Finding its origin in The City Island in the Bronx, this drink has a special place in the hearts of the City Island People who call it their favourite. You can find it in the clubs or restaurants being served in tall plastic glasses with the garnish of oranges, maraschino cherries.
Pina Colada’s birth place is Puerto Rico, and it was created for the demand of a drink that feels Caribbean. The base of Henny Colada is Hennessy, Cream of Coconut and Pineapple Juice with an addition of a sweetener or a caramel syrup. It’s now popularly served as a summer cocktail and is a City Island staple.

Ingredients:
½ Oz: Hennessy
½ Oz: Cream of Coconut
4 Oz: Pineapple Juice
Caramel Syrup
Garnishing: Maraschino Cherries or Orange Wedges
Directions:
- In an glass filled with ice pour, Hennessy, Pineapple Juice and Cream of Coconut.
- Shake them all together.
- Add a drizzle of Caramel Syrup.
- Strain the mix into a cocktail glass.
- Garnish with your choice of fruit.
