Making its way to the hall of fame, Tommy’s Margarita finds a place in the International Bar’s Association as a New Era Drink. It’s the creativity of the bartender Julian Barmejo who with his new found discovery of the nectar agave put a twist to the famous Margarita Cocktail and turned it into a bevy of new and exciting flavours. The place of origin is a famous 1960s Tommy’s Mexican Restaurant, where Julio in 90s created his signature Margarita cocktail.
Making a place for itself in the array of Margaritas and Cocktails, Tommy stayed relevant for the variation used in it by adding a twist to the already existing margarita. Instead of using orange juice or a sweetener to balance the tequila and lime, Julio experimented with the Agave Nectar which at that time was quite expensive and new on the scene. Which at that time suited the consumers of California looking for cutting back on their calories and also getting liquored up.
Tommy’s Margarita was quick to latch on to peoples taste buds and now finds it way in menus all around the world.
